JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Brand Experience is responsible for designing experiences to ensure every interaction—internal or external—feels intentional, connected, and aligned with NCH’s mission. This role develops and executes a holistic strategy for donor engagement, including stewardship, communications, care coordination, and tailored recognition activities. The Director oversees the planning and implementation of all donor and community events, liaising with key external and internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional and memorable experiences for attendees.

This role focuses on nurturing and retaining donors, volunteers, and patients. The Director will design and measure systems that breathe care, attention, and precision into every facet of our mission. The Director leads through pattern recognition, clear vision, and the subtle orchestration of moments that make people feel seen, valued, and understood. At its core, this position exists to elevate people — those we serve, those we work alongside, and those we hope to inspire to give back to our mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Brand & Experience Strategy

· Shape the tone, strategy, and feel of the NCH brand experience as one with exceptional hospitality and innovation.

· Design systems and frameworks that help teams align intention with execution.

· Ensure every branded experience reflects clarity, care, and human relevance.

Strategic Integration & Team Oversight

· Serve as an integrator across communications, philanthropy, experience design, and marketing.

· Offer clear vision and supportive oversight to high-performing team members, allowing them to thrive while staying deeply aligned.

· Promote collaboration and innovation—orchestrating details while building momentum behind the scenes.

· Provide efficient management of the budget associated with activities to ensure that established revenue goals are met and funds are used responsibly.

Messaging & Communications

· Partner thoughtfully with internal collaborators and external vendors to ensure brand and message cohesion.

· Align language and storytelling across departments to ensure consistency, resonance, and trust.

· Collaborate closely with communications leaders to uplift voices, deepen clarity, and bring emotional precision to messaging.

· Infuse mission and meaning into every touchpoint—from donor letters to digital campaigns to internal presentations.

· Guide digital storytelling and content strategies to ensure brand coherence across platforms and formats.

Experience Innovation & Campaign Support

· Guide the development of elevated, hospitality-forward donor and community experiences.

· Bring creative energy and clarity to events, campaigns, and high-impact moments—ensuring they surprise, delight, and inspire.

· Curate the environment that allows others to shine while shaping the experience arc from behind the scenes.

Measurement & Impact Reflection

· Define what success looks and feels like across brand experience, engagement, and communication efforts.

· Partner with team leads to create simple, meaningful ways to track and share impact.

· Use data as a reflective tool—not just a scoreboard—to evolve and refine approach over time.

Culture & Care

· Create spaces where high-performers feel trusted, supported, and deeply connected to purpose.

· Anticipate needs across departments before they become problems—bringing a hospitality mindset to operations and communication.

· Lead by example in modeling kindness, clarity, adaptability, and strategic calm.

Collaborative Structure:

    · This role reports to the Chief Impact Officer and works in close collaboration with leaders across philanthropy, communications, operations, marketing, and patient experience.

      EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

      · Minimum bachelor’s degree. Master’s and/or CFRE preferred.

      · 10 years of progressive career advancement in a professional fundraising and development career.

      · 3 years’ experience recruiting, hiring, and managing a professional team.

      · Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting preferred but not required.

      · Strategic planning experience and skills combined with the ability to build a process and path forward and bring the team along with you.

      · Diplomatic, able to leave ego at the door and tactfully, respectfully, and collaboratively work with a wide variety of people; altering style based on the environment.

      · Ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced small organizational environment.

      · Confident and mature with an executive presence and strong emotional intelligence.

      · Strategic and collaborative; a team player and builder with a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive working environment.

      · Inspire your team with your determination. Strong motivator and help your team to reach their goals.

      · You possess a strong command of fundraising best practices; demonstrated success building and leveraging processes and donor management systems to track and steward supporters.

        · Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences in a manner that they can understand and relate to.
