JOB SUMMARY

The Administrative Director MSK Operations is responsible for the operational management of the NCH MSK Center. In collaboration with clinical and executive leadership, the Administrative Director will plan and execute strategies for growth and program enhancement that aligns with the NCH MSK center’s strategic goals. The Administrator Director is responsible for operational efficiencies for all departments within the MSK Center.

The Administrative Director MSK Operations is responsible for the coordination of all materials management activities that include: management and inventory of the orthopedic implants, management of supplies and supply inventory, SPD management to ensure that the instruments are ready and available for surgical cases. The position will work closely with the pre-authorization team and surgeons to ensure appropriate orthopedic implant selection.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

– Other duties may be assigned.

· Enhance NCH's MSK strategy that attracts renowned surgeons and engages the community.

· Responsible for programmatic growth, evaluation, development, and adaptation of clinical/business processes for the service line.

· Partner with other key departments to develop short- and long-range supply/equipment management strategies.

· Coordinates service contracts, repairs/maintenance calls, and tracks survey/review of items that require regular evaluation (i.e. fire extinguishers).

· Responsible for ensuring a clean and well-functioning physical plant environment; ensures required medical/administrative supplies, equipment, and furniture are available, in appropriate working order, and in the quantities required for the team.

· Work collaboratively with physicians to identify and select the most appropriate surgical implant to drive top clinical orthopedic outcomes.

· Coordinates operating room activities with supplies and equipment.

· Teams with clinical service lines, hospital and contracted facility physician and administration leadership to ensure meaningful metrics and best practices are implemented and maintained across NCH Comprehensive Health.

· Demonstrate ability to work independently and collectively while taking a leadership role and developing and implementing a growth plan.

· Identify strategies to transition appropriate orthopedic surgeries from inpatient to ASC setting.

· Ability to identify orthopedic service line or other product line growth opportunities and gain appropriate approvals and drive implementation forward.

· Facilitate a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and accountability across disciplines within the service line.

· Coordinate with physician leadership to identify clinical and non-clinical technology, software, and equipment needs in support of the service line.

· Acts as a liaison to provide effective communication and submit matter expert to the medical staff and allied health professional staff, hospital administration and governing body, and other contracted entities to meet strategic Orthopedic Service Line goals.

· Effectively collaborate with other departments for business development of service lines and promotion of physician services.

· Responsible for collaboration with MSK acute care Nursing Directors for maintaining and supporting hospital system-wide supply/equipment management.

· Maintains a safe environment for patients and staff with a goal of zero harm.

· Responsible for the overall direction, management, coordination, and evaluation within areas as assigned.

· Ensures the delivery of an exceptional patient, physician, and staff experience. Reviews patient satisfaction, physician experience and employee engagement survey result and responds to complaints/concerns. Develops process improvement and action plans in response to systemic issues.

· Oversee daily operations and critical business functions for physician office visits, and procedures. Ensures new programs are optimally integrated into the center.

· Utilizes available data to make informed decisions on process and performance improvement.

· Strategizes ways to enhance workflow and patient throughput. Monitors and evaluates implementation of best practices.

· Directs managers to ensure staff receive proper guidance and direction in providing optimal, efficient, and cost-effective patient care.

· Lead efforts to attain key goals related to session utilization, appointment access, and other KPIs.

· Works closely with Medical Director to implement measures to improve care delivery at the site.

· Coordinates staff meetings and ensures that appropriate and relevant information is disseminated to staff through this and other forums including email.

· Meets weekly with management team and leads daily huddles; ensures follow through of meeting takeaways.

· Develops, implements, and manages projects and initiatives using a systematic approach to translate work plans into actionable components and measurable outcomes.

· Serves on a variety of enterprise-wide committees and initiatives.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    · Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a related field or five 5 years leader experience in inpatient or outpatient settings.

    · Flexibility, perseverance, fortitude, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

    · Comprehensive expertise and knowledge in the arena of orthopedic services and ability to initiate and maintain collaborative and cooperative interdisciplinary relationships.

    · Strong project management, extensive knowledge of computers, information retrieval and report formatting. Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
