JOB SUMMARY
The HVAC/Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of assigned HVAC and refrigeration systems. Repair of systems will include the ability to trouble shoot and repair complex systems inside a healthcare setting. Additionally, the position performs the preventative maintenance of the assets assigned. Ability to use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and maintain refrigeration logs is required. This position requires a valid FL driver license and ability to be added to NCH Healthcare’s auto insurance as multiple locations will be included.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
· Working knowledge of all assigned assets in the hospital, locations, and the required maintenance of all assets through the PM programs.
· Perform special projects and other duties as requested.
· Prepare documents using Word, Excel, and Power-Point.
· Apply standard techniques to identify problems, generates alternatives and recommendations within defined processes.
· Ability to maintain and repair facilities equipment to include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and other mechanical systems.
· Familiarity with healthcare requirements and standards.
· Experience with CMMS systems for Preventative Maintenance records as well as tracking routine work orders.
· Manage all records related to refrigeration usage and storage.
· Maintain refrigeration and spare part inventory and recommend ordering of replacements.
· Works to maintain and utilize resources and services in a manner which results in a clean, safe, and pleasant customer environment.
· Utilizes time management skills in order to increase overall individual and departmental efficiency.
· Support activities during internal audits and regulatory inspections including providing documentation as needed.
· Performs other miscellaneous tasks that may be required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of High School/GED.
· HVAC trade school certification.
· EPA Universal Certifications and/or NATE (North American Technician Excellence) Certification.
· Minimum of 3 years working with HVAC/Refrigeration systems.
· Experience repairing building systems including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and other mechanical systems.
· Preferred healthcare experience.
· Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance.
· Strong computer skills. Demonstrated working experience with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, with emphasis in reporting.
· Strong organizational skills. Detail and process oriented.
