JOB SUMMARY
The Fitness Floor Attendant will assist patrons with information and direction related to the cardio equipment, weight machines and the overall function and safety of the fitness floor area. In addition to assisting patrons, this position has many job duties such as keeping the floors clean, equipment wiped down, paper towel dispensers filled and overall maintenance of the fitness floor equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Other duties may be assigned.
· Assists patrons on proper use of all equipment located in the fitness area.
· Educates and motivates participants to ensure their successful experience.
· Acts as a mediator between members, instructors, staff, and management
· Walk the fitness floor on a regular basis and offer help with equipment and spotting
· Enforce all fitness area rules, policies and behavior expectations
· Assist in maintenance of all equipment, including wiping down cardio and weight equipment
· Provides leadership by role modeling, staff development, fostering loyalty to the department and the organization.
· Conducts both scheduled and impromptu fitness area orientations and facility tours.
· Follow emergency care procedures in the event of an injury or accident.
· Restock fitness floor supplies including paper towels, cleaning solution and cups.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fitness floor and locker room areas by picking up debris, re-racking weights and organizing equipment.
· Properly record in the maintenance log any machines in need of repair.
· Complete and read all daily shift reports, memos and records as required.
· Monitor group exercise rooms and locker rooms as needed.
· Report any problems or issues to your supervisor immediately.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Within 90 days must complete CPR, AED, and First Aid through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
· Basic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data
