JOB SUMMARY

The Supervisor Transport is responsible for assisting the System Manager of Transport/Linen Services with on-site supervision and productivity, focusing on overall employee productivity and customer / employee satisfaction. The Supervisor may also function as a Transporter, transporting patients and distributing supplies and equipment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

– Other duties may be assigned.

· Assist the Director of Transport/Linen Services with decisions necessary to complete day-to-day business functions including limited on-site supervision.

· Understands the functions and capabilities of the Patient Transport software and utilizes it to ensure patient wait times objectives reach the desired outcome.

· Manages timekeeping for department in preparation for payroll and assists with budget planning and compliance.

· Assists the System Manager of Transport/Linen Services with monthly employee scheduling for all transport employees and provides appropriate level of staffing.

· Ensures that facility has ample amounts of safe equipment for all transport requests.

· Performs new employee interview and training. Conducts annual employee competency reviews.

· Assists the System Manager of Transport/Linen Services with the auditing of Clean Linens delivered and Soiled Linens returned to the provider.

· Responsible for employee’s proper adherence to all established department policies and procedures and necessary coaching and development actions.

· Actively participates in organizational and department efforts to improve patient flow and patient satisfaction. Participates in and conducts team meetings and ensures effective communication in all direct reports.

· Supervises and coordinates staffing for cross trained responsibilities — Food Nourishment, Stat EKG, Mail Delivery, Oxygen Delivery.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    · Minimum of High School or GED required.

    · Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role or healthcare setting required; Supervisory or management experience preferred.

    · Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

    · Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
