JOB SUMMARY
The Supervisor Central Monitoring is responsible for scheduling and supervising the technicians to meet the daily needs of the department. They will assist the Director in hiring, evaluation, and training. The Supervisor serves as a mentor by role modeling professional practice consistent with organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care. Additional responsibilities may include those of a monitoring technician, including completion of tasks as delegated by the Department Director. The Supervisor Central Monitoring ensures procedures and methods are performed according to protocol and policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation within areas as assigned.
· Supervise the daily operations of the Central Monitoring Department.
· Assumes an assignment when staffing levels support the need for assistance.
· Implements and monitors workflow.
· Ensures compliance by daily monitoring shift logs.
· Maintains training and competency records.
· Recognizes and works with staff to ensure staff professionalism.
· Maintains inventory and supplies, keeping operational expenses less than or equal to approved budget.
· Organizes time efficiently and delegates appropriately.
· Assists Department Director with interviewing and hiring of the technician staff.
· Directs the implementation of new procedures, processes, and policies.
· Demonstrates, promotes, and rewards exemplary leadership skills and contributions of the staff toward the achievement of organizational goals.
· Assists the Department Director to identify learning needs of the staff, i.e., arranging for departmental needs assessment, in-services, and other educational programs.
· Coordinates training, orients and meets the new hires.
· Communicates effectively with staff to relay pertinent information and is open to receiving feedback.
· Communicates well with all areas outside the department providing prompt and courteous responses.
· Completes competency assessments of personnel and conducts employee-counseling sessions to correct disciplinary problems in a timely manner and with a fair consideration for all employees. Gives positive feedback and appreciation to staff.
· Creates an effective team environment by using chain of command for problem solving and conflict resolution.
· Understands the principles and concepts of Performance Improvement. Looks for opportunities and solutions for process improvements and seeks to improve job skills.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of High School or GED required.
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a healthcare setting or related field OR 1 year experience in a supervisor role in healthcare setting or related field; Monitor Tech experience preferred.
· Basic computer knowledge: ability to operate a PC, create/save/print documents, input data.
