JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse Regulatory Occupational Health & Workers Comp is responsible for providing basic nursing care to clinic patients following established standards and practices. Above all, this position serves to exceed the expectations of patients and all other customers we serve.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for new employee on boarding, including reviewing medical questionnaire and validation of immunizations and appropriate testing. This individual shall maintain the privacy of the patient and the confidentiality of the medical record. He or she will be responsible for immunizations as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Infection control committee.
· Responsible for PPD and fit-test compliance to meet regulatory standards of compliance
· Demonstrates knowledge of safe medication administration; administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
· Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and organize patient care.
· Timely and accurate documentation which reflects clinic standards.
· Observes, records and reports patients’ condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians
· Instruct patients in collection of samples and tests.
· Provides education regarding diagnostic procedures and vaccines
· Performs blood draws, Road to Wellness labs, urine collection following procedure for chain of custody for drug and cotinine analysis
· Administration of vaccines and attendance at flu clinics on and off site to meet needs of our employees
· Proficient in Power chart and Kronos
· Assists in the ordering of lab supplies, medical supplies and office supplies
· Handling of specimens, performing lab testing in a timely manner. Verifying results in Powerchart. Daily & monthly QC controls. Calibrating some instruments. Participates with proficiency testing. Verify integrity and dating of all lab reagents.
· Assists the system’s workers compensation program from a clinical perspective and notice of injury in the absence of the WC nurse. Provide and process medical coordination for all work injuries. Act as a liaison between the insurance carrier and medical caregiver, TPA adjuster, Business Health and Department Manager.
· May attend workers comp committee meetings and EOC meetings and generates statistical data on Workers’ Comp to discuss and handout
· Coordinate job placement and re-placement of transitional duty employees.
· Responsible for keeping accurate OSHA records. Maintains record storage and data system maintenance.
· Updates office files to reflect currently employed staff
· Works with Human Resource staff to facilitate new employee on boarding
· Maintains pertinent information and exam results.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of Associate’s Degree required.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in a health care facility or private physician office required.
· Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
· Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
