JOB SUMMARY
The PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)/CIS (Clinical Information System) Specialist is responsible to the Cardiac Imaging Director and serves as a resource person for all Cardiac Imaging departments and affiliates using various imaging systems and software. This position provides assistance to users in resolution of software issues for image interpretation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
· Able to provide back-up coverage for Cardiac Imaging file rooms, reception and front desk areas throughout the system. Functions as a Data Specialist when required.
· Serves as a key onsite IT resource for implementation and support of medical imaging applications, information systems and workflow at all NCH imaging facilities.
· Administers and support PACS, imaging interfaces and related technologies.
· Supports outpatient medical imaging.
· Provides second level support as a local medical imaging subject matter expert to resolve incidents or fulfill requests; provides status on user issues.
· Delivers hands-on training for medical imaging applications and information systems.
· Performs medical imaging software installation account set up. Requests accounts for information systems.
· Participates in configuration of medical imaging modalities.
· Works with Marketing and Physician Liaisons as a subject matter expert on medical imaging applications for physicians and their offices, to ensure physicians can access images at hospitals, offices and homes.
· Produces monthly and ad hoc reports as scheduled and/or requested.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· High School or GED required.
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in clerical setting or Healthcare; medical imaging applications preferred.
· Medical imaging operations and process understanding.
· Must be able to drive to assigned site to complete work.
