JOB SUMMARY

The Lab Quality Analyst is responsible for supporting laboratory quality management, quality improvement, quality training, regulatory compliance, and laboratory service operations across the health system. This role supports projects and daily activities related to proficiency testing, document control, auditing, corrective action follow-up, test validation, outreach and outpatient laboratory workflows, reference laboratory oversight, LIS/EHR end-user support, and laboratory charge reconciliation.

This position works with a minimum amount of direct supervision and serves as a key resource in maintaining quality systems, supporting operational continuity, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Supported the laboratory quality management program through quality reporting, trend analysis, corrective action follow-up, and communication of significant quality issues to leadership.

· Coordinated internal and external proficiency testing, including material distribution, result submission, report review, and investigation of failures or discrepancies.

· Managed document control activities and maintained policies, procedures, SOPs, LIS guides, and training materials to support regulatory compliance and standardization.

· Assisted with internal audits, inspection readiness, licensure/accreditation documentation, and preparation for regulatory and third-party reviews.

· Supported test implementation and validation projects, including reference lab review, workflow coordination, CPT/chargemaster updates, and analyzer or system changes.

· Provided LIS/EHR workflow support, end-user training, and validation assistance to improve reporting accuracy, standardization, and operational efficiency.

· Monitored charge activity, billing discrepancies, and outpatient/outreach laboratory workflows while supporting administrative processes, reporting, and cross-functional communication.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    · Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field required.

    · Minimum of 3 years of laboratory operations experience required; 5 years preferred.

    · Licensed as a Medical Technologist in the State of Florida.

    · Experience in laboratory quality systems, regulatory compliance, LIS/IT workflows, validation, or project coordination preferred.

    · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database/reporting tools.

    · Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    · Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    · High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

    · Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
