JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator Data Quality Performance provides continuous improvement support by functioning as an analyst, facilitator, coordinator and/or data support to reflect positively by rating agencies. This individual will work throughout the system with a broad range of groups to leverage data to improve and promote the positive reputation obtained from publicly reported data. The position will identify opportunities for improvement and work closely within the Quality Division to incorporate improvements into the current systems. The coordinator will work collaboratively with the IT team, Enterprise Analytics, clinical teams, and operational leadership to ensure data is accurate and complete to ensure compliance with rating agencies. This position requires a broad knowledge of rating agencies such as USNews, Healthgrades, Leapfrog, Joint Commission, and other agencies that publicly report scores, grades, and awards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Facilitates a variety of performance improvement activities to continually enhance the patient experience and their safety.

· Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation within areas as assigned. Assigned areas and focuses are dynamic.

· Coordinates quality, safety, and compliance data to ensure efficient integration into operations.

· Collaborates with operational teams to ensure performance improvement monitors maintain relevance.

· Serves as active member of various committees and teams such as Quality Improvement Committee, Patient Experience Steering Committee, and Accreditation Oversight Committee.

· Assist with development and management of quality metric program in alignment with the system Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) plan.

· Conducts Patient Experience, Environment of Care, Safety Huddles, and other rounds to support safe and quality care.

· Collaborates with Enterprise Analytics with maintenance of NCH quality performance scorecard.

· Perform analyses of current trends to enable the organization to respond to the changing competitive landscape.

· Continually monitors rating agencies’ criteria to ensure NCH alignment.

· Investigates to understand inclusion and exclusion criteria as required by various agencies. Regularly validates criteria to keep abreast of changes,

· Utilize the EHR and various analytics to track performance of clinical outcomes and quality metrics.

· Distinguishes between voluntary and mandatory quality data reporting.

· Analyzes internal early leading indicators to predict lagging indicators withing the principles of Plan-Doa-Act-Check (PDSA) cycle.

· Utilizes predictive analysis tools to project voluntary and involuntary scores and ratings.

· Work closely with I.T. and Enterprise Analytics to design, build, and maintain databases, dashboards/reports/models.

· Interpret, create final recommendations, and present the projected ratings to key stakeholders.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline data collection and analysis procedures to ensure prompt and accurate access to metrics.

· Partner with EHR vendor regulatory team to continually test reporting tools to ensure data integrity.

· Educate providers, new and existing staff, and community partners on efforts that impact quality performance metrics.

· Assist teams to upload quality data reports, as assigned.

· Gains knowledge of Health Care Quality Information Systems (HCQIS) and Hospital Access Roles and Profile (HARP) and demonstrates ability to input data and produce variety of reports with minimal guidance.

· Develop analytical tracking tools to monitor performance improvement Activities.

· Assists with executive level presentations.

· Serves as back up to other key functions of division such as Quality Performance Analyst, Safety Coordinators etc.

    · Responds to announced and unannounced agency surveys to serve as a member of the survey team.

      EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

      · Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters Degree preferred.

      · Minimum of 2 years’ experience with multifaceted projects and/or research required.

      · Experience with quality reporting and/or performance improvement processes.

      · Experience with multifaceted projects and/or research.

      · Experience with rating agencies, CMS and other nationally driven quality programs preferred.

        · Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Windows
