JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Coordinator Cardiac Cath Lab provides clinical expertise, knowledge, and leadership for care team members in coordinating staffing, work assignments and department flow. Serves as a mentor by role modeling professional practice consistent with organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness and standards of care. Assists the Director Nursing to develop, implement, and monitor compliance to the unit operating budget, financial performance, and quality performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Structural Heart and STEMI programs and other areas as assigned.
· Assists in management of expense budgets for equipment, staffing, supplies, and materials.
· Manages narcotic discrepancies, emergency equipment and checks according to policy within the department.
· Oversees ongoing improvement in patient satisfaction within specific populations of Structural Heart and STEMI.
· Delegate’s authority and accountability for clinical practice and patient care decisions.
· Assists Nursing Director with employee feedback for evaluations.
· Coaches and assists Nursing Director with employee performance improvement and skill development if not meeting department standards and NCH requirements.
· Acts as a resource to clinical staff in assisting with unfamiliar procedures/treatments and technologies.
· Assumes a clinical assignment when staffing levels support the need for assistance.
· Demonstrates, promotes, and rewards exemplary leadership skills and contributions of the staff toward the achievement of organizational goals.
· Assists the director/assist director to define learning needs of the staff; i.e. arranging for unit needs assessment, in-services, and other educational programs.
· Coaches and provides immediate feedback to staff.
· Assists with the management of clinical data and clinical registries for Structural Heart and STEMI.
· Involves staff in the development, implementation, and monitoring of a unit-based PI plan.
· Implements strategies to reduce resource consumption.
· Shares accountability for unit-based and hospital-wide performance improvement through participation in multidisciplinary committees.
· Trains, orients, and meets with new hires (including planning, orientation, precepting, and meeting with preceptors during probationary period).
· Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to identify potential barriers and variances to the plan of care and recommend actions to meet expected outcomes and coordinates patient care conferences, discharge planning meetings and clinical rounds on the unit.
· Montior, track, and analyze date for Structural Heart Program and STEMI services.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of an Associates degree in Nursing required with achievement of a Bachelors degree within 12 months of hire.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in acute care with 2 years of experience in a clinical specialty area.
· Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
· Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
· National certification in area of specialty preferred at time of hire or within two years of hire.
· Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
