JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator Robotics Surgery is responsible for coordinating the robotics surgical service program and providing functional direction to members of the robotics surgery team to achieve optimal patient outcomes while optimizing available resources. Provides direct nursing care to patients. Assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities. Participates in unit committee and quality improvement activities. Needs minimal supervision. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

· Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative robotics team and other stakeholders.

· Uses effective conflict resolution techniques.

· Employs strategies to promote workplace safety and health during robotic surgery.

· Acts as a patient advocate and maintains privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.

· Acts as a clinical resource for perioperative personnel using current evidence, guidelines, regulatory and accreditation standards, and organizational policies and procedures.

· Pursues professional growth and participates in a professional organization.

· Participates in interviews for perioperative robotics program personnel selection.

· Leads or collaborates with the perioperative manager and the educator on perioperative personnel education and competency in robotic procedures.

· Provides guidance, support, and constructive feedback to the robotics team, including technical support and troubleshooting of system malfunctions.

· Assists the team during new procedures or specialized procedures.

· Assists in evaluating perioperative robotics personnel performance.

· Identifies expected patient and program outcomes for robotic surgery services, including instrument usage and cost analysis calculations.

· Maintains awareness of the details of maintenance and replacement in robotic contracts.

· Oversees the coordination of inventory management for single-use items, reprocessing of reusable items, and maintenance procedures for robotic systems.

· Monitors construction projects related to robotic surgery.

· Coordinates, facilitates, and manages change within the robotic surgical service area.

· Monitors that necessary personnel, equipment, and supplies are available for robotic procedures (eg, scheduling, preference cards, surgeon credentialing).

· Collects and analyzes data applicable to robotic surgical services to facilitate collaboration and negotiation with stakeholders.

· Disseminates quality improvement data to facility-identified stakeholders (eg, Robotics Committee members, surgeons, perioperative leaders, perioperative clinical personnel, sterile processing personnel, material management personnel, risk management personnel, marketing department personnel).

· Assists perioperative robotics personnel, including personnel in sterile processing areas, in the evaluation of current practice through quality and performance improvement activities.

· Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team for planning perioperative robotic services patient care.

· Keeps the interdisciplinary team members and other stakeholders aware of product updates and emerging technology.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    · Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

    · Minimum of 2 years of experience in Robotic Surgery required.

    · Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.

    · Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification preferred.

    · Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

    · Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

    · Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
