JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator Radiology will aid service line assignments across all NCH Healthcare Imaging locations. Coordinates equipment maintenance, service, upgrades, and certification. Acts as a liaison for patient care activities with outside departments and consults with NCH physician offices and urgent care centers offering imaging services to maintain quality service levels. Assist with peer interview process, activities of staff, set expectations, coach, and counsel. Reviews budget with director/assistant director on monthly basis to identify variance reasons. Coordinates service line supplies. Above all, this position serves to exceed the expectations of patients and all other customers we serve.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

– Other duties may be assigned.

· Assist with all modality service lines assigned across all NCH Healthcare Imaging locations.

· Aids outside department and consults with NCH physician offices and urgent care centers offering imaging services.

· Coordinates equipment maintenance, service, and upgrades

· Ensure proper equipment inspections and certifications are current.

· Performs adequate assessment of department and staffing needs. Aligns resources with demands of imaging services offered throughout the NCH Healthcare System.

· Assist with peer interview process, interview, and hire.

· Sets expectations for staff, performs staff evaluations, coaches, and councils.

· Reviews budget with Director on monthly basis to identify variances. Actively assists and supports departmental activities to ensure operational and salary expenses are equal to or less than approved budget.

· Performs quality assurance activities on a quarterly basis. Maintains statistics for yearly evaluations and trending.

· Ensures all protocols are consistent and meet the guidelines determined by the Radiology Medical Chair.

· Orders supplies for service line across system.

· Coordinates, motivates, and guides staff to efficiently complete procedures while delivering excellent patient care.

· Performs staff orientation. Provides training in software and equipment. Completes departmental checklists and skills competency forms.

· Completes time and attendance on assigned staff.

· Proficient in using the Radiographic Information System.

· Proficient in using the PACS.

· Maintains clean and well stocked work area.

· Strives to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all employees.

· Understands the principles and concepts of Performance Improvement. Looks for opportunities and solutions for process improvements and seeks to improve job skills.

· Coordinates ACR and/or JCAHO accreditation as required. Complies with JCAHO rules and regulations and assures proper training of staff.

· Assists in training and orientation of new employees. Ensure each new employee completes new employee checklists and department orientation.

· Understands the principles and concepts of Performance Improvement. Looks for opportunities and solutions for process improvements and seeks to improve job skills.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    · High School or GED required.

    · Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology.

    · Minimum of 2 years of experience.

    · ARRT registered in R (Radiology).

    · Licensed as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the State of Florida.

    · Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

    · Strong Communication Skills.

    · Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows
