JOB SUMMARY
The Coordinator Blood Center Component Distribution oversees and performs activities pertaining to the manufacturing and/or procurement of blood and blood components; issues/delivers/ships blood; gathers and compiles data related to collections and usage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
– Other duties may be assigned.
· Performs all processes in compliance with industry and regulatory standards (FDA, AABB, cGMPs).
· Oversees and can perform requirements for processing, modifying and storing various blood and components according to departmental and regulatory compliance.
· Oversees and can perform requirements associated with external plasma contracts.
· Oversees performance, documentation and compiling of monthly product and equipment QC/QA
· Oversees maintenance, retention and storage of donor medical records, product records and related QC/QA records.
· Monitors projected collections and product usage to project inventory needs.
· Orders, maintain and properly documents activities associated with critical inventory supplies for product manufacturing and distribution.
· Performs LIS functions associated with donor registration/encounter, product manufacturing and product distribution.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or GED Required.
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Donor Center, Laboratory or Technical healthcare position required.
· Must have current, valid Florida Driver’s License that passes the Motor Vehicle Department background check.
· Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
