JOB SUMMARY

In collaboration with Professional Practice leadership, nursing leaders, and frontline nurses, the Coordinator Nursing Professional Practice & Engagement supports initiatives that strengthen nurse engagement, professional practice, recognition, and professional growth across the organization. The coordinator facilitates shared decision-making, nursing recognition programs, professional advancement initiatives, and activities that promote a positive professional practice environment. Serves as a resource and connector for nurses across departments, supporting participation in nursing councils, Clinical Ladder, professional organizations, specialty certification, and organizational nursing excellence efforts. Supports communication, engagement, data collection, and evidence demonstrating nursing excellence and alignment with organizational and ANCC recognition standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Nurse Engagement & Communication: Develops and coordinates strategies that increase nurse participation in professional practice, shared decision-making, recognition, and professional growth opportunities. Communicates nursing accomplishments, professional practice initiatives, council activities, recognition opportunities, and outcomes across the nursing division.

· Professional Practice: Promotes professional nursing practice and serves as a resource to nurses and leaders regarding professional practice standards, nursing excellence initiatives, and opportunities for professional involvement.

· Planning & Project Coordination: Coordinates assigned professional practice and nurse engagement initiatives, including project plans, timelines, milestones, communications, and follow-up. Partners with Professional Practice leadership to support organizational nursing excellence priorities.

· Shared Decision-Making: Supports nursing councils and shared decision-making structures, including council development, participation, communication, goal tracking, and dissemination of outcomes. Serves as a resource regarding the Nursing Professional Practice Model and professional practice initiatives.

· Data & Outcomes: Collects, organizes, and maintains professional practice and nurse engagement data and evidence. Tracks participation, recognition, professional advancement, and other relevant measures to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement. Supports collection of evidence and narratives for nursing excellence and ANCC recognition activities.

· Recognition & Professional Growth: Coordinates and supports nursing recognition and engagement programs, including DAISY, CARING, Nurses Week, Annual Report, Clinical Ladder, specialty certification, professional organization participation, and other nursing excellence initiatives. Partners with nursing colleagues and councils to promote participation and celebrate nursing contributions.

· Nursing Excellence & ANCC Programs: Partners with Professional Practice leadership to support Pathway to Excellence, Magnet, and other nursing excellence initiatives through staff engagement, evidence collection, communication, education, application support, and readiness activities.

· Collaboration & Consultation: Serves as a resource to nurses, councils, educators, leaders, and interdisciplinary partners. Provides consultative support for professional practice, nurse engagement, shared decision-making, recognition, and nursing excellence initiatives.

· Quality & Evidence: Collaborates with Professional Practice, Quality, and nursing leadership in the collection and evaluation of nursing-sensitive and professional practice outcomes. Supports data integrity, identification of examples of nursing excellence, and evidence demonstrating the impact of professional practice initiatives.

· Evidence-Based Practice: Promotes nurse engagement in evidence-based practice and supports dissemination of projects and outcomes in collaboration with appropriate nursing and organizational partners.

· Education & Engagement: Develops and delivers education and informational sessions related to professional practice, shared decision-making, recognition, professional advancement, and nursing excellence initiatives.

· Professional Growth: Connects nurses with opportunities for professional development, Clinical Ladder advancement, specialty certification, professional organization participation, and dissemination of nursing accomplishments.

· Participates in projects that enhance nursing excellence, engagement, recognition, and professional development.

· Supports nursing councils, recognition activities, professional practice initiatives, and engagement events across departments and campuses as assigned.

· Encourages and supports nurses in participation in evidence-based practice, shared decision-making, recognition, and professional advancement opportunities.

· Promotes professional nursing association membership and specialty certification.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    · Minimum of a Bachelor degree Required, Masters preferred.

    · A minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience required. Experience in shared decision-making/shared governance, nurse engagement, professional practice, recognition programs, project coordination, or nursing excellence initiatives preferred.

    · Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida required.

    · Professional certification in a specialty area preferred.

    · Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

    · Experience with or knowledge of ANCC Magnet Recognition Program and/or Pathway to Excellence standards preferred. Experience with shared decision-making and professional practice initiatives highly preferred.

    · Strong writing, editing and presentation skills.

    · Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
